AMAGA
Activity open to all and free of charge with a limited capacity of 55 people
A theatrical event about horror, error and terror in physical landscapes and virtual ceremonies.
With the participation of Isabel Bassas Portús, Arnau Boces Obis, Àlex Cabré Calleja, Eduard Molins Alentà and Víctor Pérez-Pallarès Setó (AMAGA)
With the support of Nau Ivanow and the collaboration of Sala Beckett
AMAGA is a cocktail of people with different experiences and common motivations: insects, myth, ritual, Railroad Tycoon TM, aesthetics, 4 HBD, prehistory and YouTube. They are neither promoters of anything nor lifelong friends; 3 years ago they didn't know each other's surnames. They delve into languages they don't know without sticking to any discipline, they mix things up, they make mistakes and, in short, they rely more on intuition than on knowledge. They think of art as a space for exchange without certainties, and it is in this uncertainty that they feel most comfortable.
They start AMAGA with their first work of scenic creation Allò que hi ha després del diumenge, they are selected as an emerging artistic project in residence at the Centre d'Arts en Moviment de la Roca Umbert Fàbrica de les Arts, and they present it in the framework of the 22/23 season of the Sala Beckett in Barcelona.
In 2021 they also began a research project on horror, error and terror in physical landscapes and virtual ceremonies with I tried speeddrunnig virtuality and the acceleration physically hurt me, selected as part of the call for support for creation by El Corralito CCA and TNT (Terrassa Noves Tendències) and presented as part of the festival. In April 2022 they continue to explore it in an exhibition context at La Ideal in Barcelona as part of the Embodied Manifesto of the Active Activism Act.
In 2023 they were awarded the Despertalab grant and became a resident company at Nau Ivanow to continue developing the project.
