The Culture Department and the national cultural entities celebrate the International Day of Freedom of Expression of Thought with different participative actions. Freedom of expression is a fundamental human right that we all have to defend and the cultural facilities are safe spaces for freedom of expression and diversity. Santa Mònica joins in demanding respect for and protection of freedom of expression in all its forms and in all areas.

At the Santa Mònica there will be a collective improvisation performance that will activate different archive formats (audiovisuals, texts, images, collages, etc.) to talk about ‘the net’ as a powerful form of resistance and collaboration, which can be used as a collective and emancipatory tool, but which can also be a channel of capture and domination, censorship and fake news.
