The Santa Mònica at the Raval Festival

The Festa Major del Raval 2023 is here! And Santa Mònica joins the celebration once again this year with activities in the centre and also in the squares and streets of the neighbourhood.

• 14.07 / 19h - 20h / Santa Mònica: Sessions Chroma 3. Karaoke a l’aire lliure with Clàudia del Barrio and Noela Covelo Velasco

The artists Clàudia del Barrio and Noela Covelo Velasco invite us to sing karaoke in the open air and to transform ourselves into a virtual image. Through a textile device with chroma cloth installed on the terrace of the Sala Bar at the Santa Mònica, a camera will capture the facial expressions of the people who sing and project them onto a virtual plane, where they will play with their transformation, multiplication and infinite expansion. A festive game that stimulates the most mimetic and emotional aspects of karaoke.

In addition, at 5 p.m. you will be able to attend the round table discussion Quin potencial artístic té el karaoke?, with the artists Joana Tischkau, Clara Reiner and Scott Sinclair, moderated by Pilar Cruz. Round table in English, without simultaneous translation.

A popular community paella will be prepared and cooked by CAS Baluard in collaboration with the resident artists of the Santa Mònica Gastronomy Guild.

Santa Mònica also invites you to take advantage of these holidays to enjoy the art centre, which you can access free of charge from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 8.30 pm, and to discover in depth the artistic proposals of the current exhibition, Ple de forats, with guided tours on Sundays at 12 pm.
