Contraimaginarios with social leader Yaneth Valencia (Cali, Colombia)
Activity open to everyone and free of charge
From Contraimaginarios Postpandémicos we activate this conversation with the colombian social leader Yaneth Valencia and the afro-colombian researcher, producer and cultural manager Lina Vaneza López Ortiz, about the ways in which women living with HIV, a product of the armed conflict, have generated counter-imaginings from the community level. The experience of Lila Mujer, an organisation in which Yaneth Valencia has been working in Cali, Colombia, is an example of the possibility of counter-narratives, from the collective, the community, that resinify life within the framework of stigma and exclusion.

Yaneth Valencia
Social leader, founder of Lila Mujer, an association of women living with HIV in Cali, Colombia and a reference point for black women living with HIV in the communities of south-western Colombia. Lila Mujer is dedicated to empowering women living with HIV as a result of the violence of the armed conflict and to accompanying them in the process of restoring their health rights. This is done from a community and collective work perspective, in addition to work from the solidarity economy and in the construction of strategic networks that lead us to "re-exist".
