In this talk, moderated and curated by Shaday Larios, the idea of visual dramaturgy in the theatre of animated forms (puppets, objects, shadows and other materialities) is addressed in its interaction with film, literature and interactive visual arts, based on the work of three researchers, teachers and creators from Argentina (Silvina Mandini), Chile (Catalina Donoso) and Mexico (Mónica Hoth).
All this is done from questions that, through the thematic axis of the autonomies of the image, open up different scenarios: What do images emancipate themselves from and what do they emancipate themselves from, as events in situated territories that face different types of social crisis? What are the modes of production of visual dramaturgies? How are they reflected in the contents and processes? What decolonising and cultural assimilation dynamics are there in these, with respect to foreign influences?
