Sicut Virgo

Auditexaudi, a female Gregorian choir, and the visual artist Agustín Ortiz Herrera, have collaborated creating, for the soundtrack of Gnosis iluminada, a unique adaptation of the mythical composer Hildegard von Bingen (12th century). Sicut Virgo (Like a Virgin) becomes a quantum encounter between the work of the medieval mystic and the most uninhibited and irreverent pop of the 20th century Madonna’s.

Following the presentation of this unique piece adapted by Margarida Barbal and performed live by Auditexaudi, the choir will offer us a fascinating musical journey through the High Middle Ages. The artist and the musicologist will also briefly review von Bingen's work, revealing some aspects of the process of this collaboration.
