An enquiry into tradition.
We invite you to an unusual, theatrical and fierce séance, where you can connect with your ancestors through memory, impulsive choices and the games of a medium who aims to uncover the tradition that runs through us. Summoning the spirits of the past need not be scary: it is an opportunity to question our present and perhaps sing their praises.
We inherit a variety of systems and environments that operate visibly and invisibly to guide us, meta-narratives about morality, history, economics, science and philosophy that predict the effects of our decisions and actions. Tradition is much more than memory and preservation. it is security in the face of uncertainty and at the same time a disavowal of guilt. The word either pleases or repels us, but the threads that come from afar envelop us without our realising it. When we finally see them, perhaps we think it would be much better to take them as reins and play at taming them.
And playing, playing, perhaps we will discover that the spirits are us.
