Isiah Medina - Inventing the future (2020), 98min, post-screening discussion with the filmmaker
Take back control of our future and foster the ambition for a more modern world than capitalism. Demand full automation, demand a shorter working week, demand universal basic income, destroy the work ethic.
Filmmaker biography
Isiah Medina (Canada, 1991) graduated from Concordia University in Montreal. He is a filmmaker, editor and cinematographer specialising in experimental short films. His first feature film, 88:88, premiered at the Locarno Film Festival. He has also co-directed several pieces with Philip Hoffman.
The first programme of screenings of the Laboratory is formulated as questions: what do filmmakers do in this era of an overabundance of images? How do they represent the crossovers between the real and the virtual? What are the new forms of audiovisual activism?
