A philosophical investigation from Las Ramblas through transversal writing
General public interested in dramatized writing
Activity with pre-registration limited to 10 people per session
The call is open for participation in two sessions of the first season of Making holes.
Making holes is a proposal for philosophical-poetic writing on three major themes of life: grief, death and love, from a common geographical-heterotopic place: the Rambla (from the Arabic word "ramla", sandpit or sandy hole).
A research group, the qalbi group, formed by Christina Schultz, Mar Merino, Ricardo Cardenas, Carlos Clemente and Diego Ballestrini, has created a literary base and philosophical tendency in order to give rise to the possibility of a philosophical debate through fictional and collectivised writing.
Each meeting proposes different exercises, or rather, "proposals with shared limitations", to write a dialogue dealing more or less directly with one of the three suggested themes in order to generate a constructive, non-homogeneous debate.
The proposal will be continued with a second season of six sessions starting on 3 May. The material from the two seasons will be used to produce a publication in the form of a carpet (format still to be decided with the participants), which will include the results of the different tests.
If you want to be part of this research on transversal writing, please write an email to contact@christinaschultz.com with a description of what you do (CV or explanatory text) and a couple of lines about why you are interested in making holes. Let us know if you are interested in participating in both sessions or just one.
Dates of the call: 21 February to 2 March 2022.
Applicants will be notified individually during the first week of March.
