The presentation of arcadia90 will work as a manifesto of the self-managed platform with the aim of publicizing the initiative and introducing the public to in its lines of action. Under the form of an artistic show, several projects published so far will be exhibited, as well as previews of next ones in order to set a precedent for upcoming events.

Founded by Blanca Arias, Marc Luguera and Edu Rubio in 2018, arcadia90 is an independent platform born in Barcelona in order to support local artists who haven’t entered the legitimizer circles of the artistic production and distribution. With the will to be listened by a wider spectrum of the artistic system, arcadia90 wants to offer an alternative to the present scene and visualize emergent projects that propose new ways to address the artistic phenomenon in all its strands.

Blanca Arias (1998) is a visual artist whose current interests are the recuperation of antiquity (to get to the roots of Occidental thought so as to reclaim self-expression through sexuality and pleasure) and the approach to the relationship between art and life to celebrate personal growth and love to the often ignored process.

Edu Rubio (1997) is an artist mainly focused on the development of alternative ways of understanding sound. He wants to set himself apart from the traditional narratives of what’s been called “music” since antiquity, considering his main goal the break of the hierarchy between visual and sound art to accomplish an equal level of significance.

Marc Luguera (1997) is an audiovisual content creator whose works lead on the idea of rhythm on the screen and the questioning of the legitimacy of the image as a malleable and flexible element, presenting a distorted alternative to a reality that everyone is capable of recording.
