Activitat gratuïta amb aforament limitat
The no regulate street vending is a reality in our society and has a great impact. But we, citizens, have very little information about, and a lot of prejudices about people who do this activity instead. In order to eliminate the discrimination these people suffer, SOS Racisme and Catalunya Plural have prepare a journalistic report from an antiracist and global view. An alternative narrative from the principal criminalizing discourse.
Besides the visual reports, in this event differents actors or organizations will go in depth: Mariama Badji, journalist from Senegal, Aziz Faye, from Street vending popular Trade Union, Fatou Mbaye, president of DIOMCOOP and Ababacar Thiakh, historian and member of Senegal Catalan Association, will speak from the debate table. And «Tras la Manta», African Studies Center (CEA), Wiriko, Irídia and Media.cat, among others, will participate from the audience.
The report is based on interviews made in Barcelona and Senegal, the principal country where informal sellers came from. We have also collaboration of journalist from the South. And through their voices, we analise the causes and consequences of this international reality.
