Interficies is the mediation project  of Arts Santa Monica. It develops initiatives on education, culture and citizenship in relation to the various contents and issues produced in the art center. This activity comes up as a dialogue within the residence entitled Black is Beltza by Fermin Muguruza. This meeting tries to establish dialogue with the residence in relation to issues of social movements, community work and counter-cultural spaces.

Based on the residence of Black is Beltza at Santa Mònica Art Center, we propose a working session that dialogues with the activity entitled the "vanguard of the revolution scheduled on July 5 in relation to the Black Panthers. In our case we want to establish a dialogue through a series of people and initiatives of the city with the domestic dimension, feminist and popular education of the black panthers (soup kitchens, self-managed care centers, literacy courses for kids @ s). Normally this is an invisible reality of care and sustaining life, which involves a rearguard of this political movement.

We want to check what means this care work today in cultural practices, putting life in the center and care not as an object on which to investigate, but as a material and social conditions that crosses  everybody, no matter we are mothers, fathers, brothers, daughters/sons  or partners in any initiative. We propose an informal meeting inviting different people and initiatives of the city to share their experiences, their lifestyles and their ways of caring and co-breeding. We will have small presentations by LaFundició, Rachel Friera and Javier Bassas, Espai Contrabandos and Nyam Nyam, all these initiatives where parenting is a bet that vertebra its cultural and political practice. Moreover we will installed a space of common work, caring area and snack to work organically with the creatures.
