IN SITU, Mostra d’arts del moviment.
Program of 6 works of independent artists from the scene of the movement arts and new scenic languages. The main objective of the exhibition is to position itself as a meeting point to give visibility, recognition and context to independent makers of the contemporary dance in Catalonia, offering a space for artists or artistic collectives to open their work to new exhibition experiences and to expand the access to a more diverse audience through the location and format of the exhibition.
Moreover, IN SITU aims to bring contemporary dance to the public by creating opportunities for dialogue between artists and audiences to share the creative process of each artist.
IN SITU presents a dearing programming, presenting experimental projects that investigate in the search for new languages in the field of movement arts.
The 16, 17 and 18 December will take place at Arts Santa Monica in Barcelona a new edition of Mostra IN SITU 2016. The program is characterized by experimental projects that investigate in the search for new languages within the field of movement arts.
The new edition of IN SITU presents six pieces of independent creators of the Catalan scene under a new format, "Ji Gou: Preludi i fuga en La Menor" by Nieves Villa "Labranza" by the Collective Lamajara " Imaginarium frame " by Manel Salas," Rewrite "by Albert Costa and Roger Quesada," Breve ensayo sobre la nada " by Iris Heitzinger and" Cúmul "of Collective Lema.
This year IN SITU proposes a new format through a journey of approximately one hour in different spaces of the Arts Santa Monica. The audience will see 3 VERSIONS-SITE, meaning versions of pieces adapted to the space, of the six selected pieces, each day of the festival (Friday 16 and Saturday 17 December).
Sunday 18th (12am to 15pm) we organized an oppen talking-table where everyone is invited, with all the participating artists of the five editions of IN SITU and venues, festivals and collaborators to discuss the situation in the sector.
Additionally IN SITU continues to support the idea of sharing the creative process beyond the exhibition, and proposes different workshops "Open sessions with the artist," prior to the exhibition of the pieces, which will take place in the creation space La Caldera on 9 and 10 December. IN SITU invites everyone who is interested in dance to participate in these sessions.
The 5th edition consolidates partnerships between different organizations and festivals such as Festival Mixtur, Festival Sismògraf Olot, Sala Hiroshima, Antic Teatre and Animal a l’esquena.
