The record label Concèntric, created 50 years ago, became the first Catalan pop record label thanks to the tireless Ermengol Passol, an observant, wise Catalanist businessman who brought modern Catalan culture to life through records, design and shows at La Cova del Drac. The label released pop bands (Els Dracs, The Bonds, Eurogrup), issued the mythical Dioptria by Pau Riba, regarded as the best Catalan rock record in history, and launched the first records by the singer-songwriters Maria del Mar Bonet and Lluís Llach, in addition to a pioneering selection of jazz, children’s music and melodic artists in Catalan.
